Every year Samsung releases a new Ultra, and every year the critics say "not much changed." This year, they'll have a much harder time making that case. The S26 Ultra is the most thoughtfully engineered Galaxy flagship to date.

The S26 Ultra arrives with two genuinely novel technologies — a world-first built-in Privacy Display and an evolved generation of proactive Galaxy AI — wrapped in the most refined industrial design the Ultra line has ever worn. The camera remains best-in-class. The S Pen is still here. But what makes the S26 Ultra worth talking about is how all of these elements converge into a single, cohesive experience.

Canadian Buyer Note

Samsung Canada's MSRP for the S26 Ultra 512GB is $2,179.99 CAD. Canadian Outlet has it for $1,549.99 CAD — brand new, unlocked, Canadian version. A saving of $630 CAD.

01 — Design & Build Design That Earns Your Attention

The S26 Ultra sheds the sharp angularity of its predecessors in favour of rounded ergonomic corners and a silhouette that feels immediately more comfortable in hand. At 214 grams, trimmed 0.3mm thinner than the S25 Ultra, it disappears into a pocket as naturally as any phone this capable can.

Samsung returns to an Armor Aluminum frame, paired with Gorilla Armor 2 glass on both front and back. Four colourways at launch: Black, Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, and White. For the first time in years, vivid colour options have returned to the Ultra lineup.

02 — Camera System The Best Lens in Your Pocket

The 200MP main sensor now carries a wider F1.4 aperture, letting in 47% more light than the previous generation. Low-light performance takes a clear step forward. Enhanced Nightography applies to both stills and video, and for the first time the AI ISP previously reserved for rear cameras now extends to the front-facing lens — selfies get the same fine detail rendering as the main sensor.

The S26 Ultra is also the first Galaxy phone to support APV (Advanced Professional Video) format, enabling 8K capture at 30fps for creators who demand the maximum from their footage.

03 — World First The Screen Only You Can Read

The Privacy Display is not a screen protector film, and it is not a software filter. It is engineered directly into the display panel at manufacturing level, using selective polarization that makes the screen dramatically harder to read from any angle except straight ahead.

Activate it for the full screen, for specific applications, or automatically whenever a password or PIN is entered. Standard Mode for general daily use; Maximum Mode for airports, public transit, and open office environments. Unlike aftermarket privacy films, it adds no friction, no brightness penalty, and no distortion during normal use.

04 — Galaxy AI Intelligence That Anticipates, Not Just Reacts

Galaxy AI has crossed from impressive to genuinely useful. Now Nudge reads your screen context in real time, surfacing relevant actions before you ask — a date mentioned in a message triggers a calendar prompt; a shared photo offer launches Gallery directly. Now Brief synthesizes bookings, reminders, and saved information into a morning digest you'll actually use.

Photo Assist can now add objects to scenes — not only remove them — supporting written prompts for faster editing results. Natural language device control has also matured significantly: say "My eyes feel tired" and Bixby activates Eye Comfort Shield automatically.
